Organizational Development Consultant

 

Provide consultation in change management and organization effectiveness and work collaboratively with all levels of the company to execute change initiatives that address department and/or corporate goals and strategies.  Develop and implement change management strategies and plans related to the integration of change management best practices and principles into Church Mutual change initiatives.  Assist management to identify knowledge, experience, and skill sets needed to accomplish the goals of department- and corporate-level initiatives.  Support desired change by assisting management in the development, implementation, and/or modification of related infrastructure, business processes, procedures, technology, and/or systems.  Recommend effective communication channels and change management processes.  Develop and conduct manager, leadership, and personal effectiveness training courses in partnership with Talent Management and Learning & Development that foster a highly effective management and leadership culture.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 ·      Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that support company strategies, maximize employee adoption, and minimize resistance.

·      Provide consultation to leadership and management related to the integration of change management best practices and principles into Church Mutual change initiatives.

·      Assist management in identifying knowledge, experience, and skill sets needed to accomplish the goals of department- and corporate-level initiatives.  When gaps are identified, collaborate with the business and Human Resources to develop solutions to close the gaps.

·      Assist management in the development, implementation, and/or modification of related infrastructure, business processes, procedures, technology, and/or systems needed to support desired change.

·      Recommend effective communication channels and change management processes to keep stakeholders informed and engaged in change initiatives.

·      Act as a department liaison, assisting them to link together the financial, human, and technical resources required to successfully achieve department and corporate objectives and organization changes.

·      Facilitate with initial and ongoing communication between departments and project team members that will promote successful goal accomplishment and the identification of issues linked with employee development.

·      Develop and conduct manager, leadership, and personal effectiveness training courses in partnership with Talent Management and Learning & Development that foster a highly effective management and leadership culture.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 ·         Provide consultation in change management and organization effectiveness to execute change initiatives that address department and/or corporate goals and strategies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 Prior Experience:

 ·    Five to seven years' experience in two of the following is required:  change management, organizational development, and/or leadership training.

         ·    Experience with internal consultation and change management in a large organization.

 Education:

          Four-year college degree required.  Major in organization development, communication, human resources, business, marketing, or learning-related field preferred.  Master's degree preferred.

 Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:

 ·      Demonstrated excellence in communication (oral and written), influencing, collaboration, negotiation, presentation, facilitation, and proactive organizational skills.

·      Tested and refined interpersonal skills.

·      Analytical and self‑motivated.  Ability to take an initiative and lead projects through to the desired end result with little direction.

·      Average-to-advanced Microsoft computer skills.

·      Adult learning theory and/or employee program development.

·      Must recognize and maintain confidentiality of data/material.

·      Agile approach to assignments/responsibilities; able to shift focus to meet varying needs of the organization.

·      Proven record of handling multiple projects and initiatives of varying scope and delivering high-quality results within defined timelines.

·      Demonstrated agility in partnering with stakeholders at all levels.

·      Ability to attain knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry and its products and services.

·      Demonstrated project management experience.

·      Ability to travel on a limited basis.
